Seoul on a rainy day

81 places in 22 districts of Seoul — either fully indoors, or a market with a covered main aisle. Every one is within 600 m of a subway station. Distances are straight-line, so the walk is a little longer.

Underground shopping arcades are not here yet. Seoul Facilities Corporation runs 25 of them; we will add each once verified — we do not list what we have not checked.

What is there to do in Seoul when it rains?

This page lists indoor places that are within 600 m of a subway station, so you barely get wet on the way. Each entry names the nearest station and the distance to it.

How were these places chosen?

A place appears here only if both are true: it is indoors, and it is within 600 m of a subway station. On a rainy day the walk to the door matters as much as the roof over it.

How is the distance measured?

Straight-line distance on the map, so the actual walk is a little longer. Within 300 m is about a 3-minute walk with an umbrella.

Why are opening hours and admission fees missing?

Because we have not verified them. A wrong opening time sends you to a locked door, and a blank is better than that. Every place links to its official page, where the current hours are.

Fully indoors — you stay dry

Markets with a covered main aisle

The main aisle is covered — and it runs long enough for a proper look around without getting wet. Side lanes may still be open to the sky, so keep an umbrella with you.
